This will be the third summer of use for my window air-conditioners.  They are working well.  Is it really necessary to have them serviced or could they be left for another year?  Thanks for advice.

As long as filters are cleaned on a regular basis and it is cooling properly and not making excessive noise, it is fine.

Thanks so much, you two.  That's most helpful.  It was my feeling too.  Just that I am untutored in mechanical stuff Smiley   I look after them well.  They are like new and as this may be my last summer here I don't want to throw money around unnecessarily.
