CM adding surcharges to outstanding fees

As a resident where do I stand when DB management have added surcharges and/or interest rates to outstanding management fees? Am I within my rights not to pay these extra charges? Their response to my request to waiver them was that it had been passed to Estate Manager for follow up Sad

From memory, I think they are within their rights per invoice fine print.

You would have to be quite long overdue to incur charges.

Be nice to the Manager.

Thanks. Given that it is printed in the invoice don't they have to prove how this charge is warranted. I mean how they decide it's 1.5% per month or whatever it is currently.
Is it to cover an expense at their end or a penalty for late payment??

Sorry I don't know. I usually settle mine within the month and the times I was a bit late due to overseas there were no penalties.

I am quite frustrated with them over the gas deposit return by now and after speaking to several functionaries, I realise one needs to be patient and persistent and hope someone will be sympathetic.

Have you spoken to anyone? It helps to connect with a manager who can help navigate their system.
