Seats are for people, not bags

It's disheartening to see so many inconsiderate people on the ferry (especially during peak hours) who put their bags on the seats and refuse to give them up to fare-paying passengers. Unless they paid for the ferry fare for their bags, I say let's sit on their bags! Or perhaps name and shame them.

I am surprised that you say people refuse to remove their bags to free up the seat.

I ask politely...could you move your bag please I'd like to sit there......they might huff puff and sigh but no one has refused. Then smile and say thank you so much...

I've never seen anyone refuse when asked to move a bag.

The best way around this is to keep your bag on your lap or on the floor until everyone is seated.  Then if no one is in the seat next to you, put your bag there.  There are certain sections that are less likely to be full.  Learn where they are and sit there.

Common sense really.
