End of late night ferries
Oct 24th, 2018 at 2:37pm
Print Post
HKR’s performing monkeys at the COC have reportedly voted 9:8 in favour of cancelling late night ferries.

Assuming they get Gov approval, ferries will be replaced by buses from 11:30pm - 5am.

Huh, what a joke! If they do it we are out of here, after 5 years so fed up with this DB circus - crap transport service, neverending construction of some mystery ice-skating ring, marina, etc, etc. DB is no more!

The flyer in the mail suggests 12:8 in favour of replacing ferries. Votes FOR the replacement coming mainly from Resident Owners themselves. I wonder what incentive these residents have for voting that way? Do they never leave DB? Home by 8pm every night? Wankers. Angry

I believe only 3 villages that are controlled by HKR affiliated people voted in favor of this, the rest in favor were clubs, HKR, City Management, The Hotel, The Plaza etc.

I've heard the bus - with stops - will be 90 minutes from town to DB. Many people who are still in town after midnight have had a few drinks.... there are no bathrooms on these buses.  Angry

Expats (including older teens) like to socialize until the midnight hours on the weekend and holidays. Definitely not a formal occasion like dinner at 8.

Can't blame HKR for canceling overnight ferries. 507 seat capacity sailing 95% empty. I think bus service would still lose money but less than the ferry thought journey time will double to 50 mins.
