A rally for Trump won't make a difference and POTUS is the most powerful position in the world.

A better cause would be for the Sri Lankan asylum seekers in Hong Kong fearing for their lives right now because they gave shelter to NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Sri Lankan officials actively tried to find the families, showing other Sri Lankan community members pictures of them. The families helped hide Snowden in 2013, concealing him for weeks while he tried to evade authorities. Their involvement was made public after the Oliver Stone movie "Snowden" came out.

"They protected me, they believed in me, and but for that I may have had a very different ending," Snowden later told the New York Times.

“We do not believe that the Hong Kong government has provided the protection that our clients are entitled to receive as asylum seekers in Hong Kong,"

"We must protect Hong Kong's system against any abuse by foreign governments," he said. "So we will take the matter to the Hong Kong government, to the highest level."

I can't say I support refugees entirely, only the genuine ones.

I think Hong Kong is too small and not the place to resettle refugees. The UN can better relocate them. I do agree with some who say the best thing the world can do is to help find solutions in the country of origin rather than just resettling so many refugees.

A big problem is many are economic migrants rather than genuine refugees. And many governments have tightened border controls because of the abuse of visas. It's already common place that student visas are used to smuggle workers, and also business visas to hire low skilled workers.

In Europe, many residents were told by their government that women, elderly and young children refugees will be settling in their towns only to find out the majority of them are adult men (pretending to be children). And there is a huge surge in rape and assault. I think some news mentioned the government covered up statistics for fear of being branded racists. Women living in areas with refugees are fearful to go out of their homes especially at night in case they get assaulted.

Trump can hold his own, as President of the USA, he is the most powerful man on earth. Hillary/Trump politics is too controversial and always ends in violent clashes so we should avoid that here.

There are plenty of other causes we can support that doesn't attract strong conflicts.
