Off-shore Core Sampling or Piling for new Bridge ?

So what is going on here?

Three floating drilling rig vessels carefully aligned in a straight line across the sea just beyond Disneyland

Remember the Lantau Development Committee's suggestion for that new bridge? Bang goes our harbour view. Or was it to be a subterranean tunnel ?

Good question

If they are piling construction should have been approved no?

And even if it is sampling - that is not a cheap operation. There must be a justification

Could it be something else? It seems much further away from Lantau than what  is on the map. Iassume you took that pic on the ferry

What is that tourism hub (the circle?) in the water? And what is the island over which the proposed new road runs?

Thanks for the info anyway

You could ask the question in the next district council meeting

Or they could all just be parked up at different moorings during the CNY.

I thought of that but dismissed it as unlikely that they would all be anchored on adjacent moorings and also in a straight alignment seemingly heading towards the shore  near Disney.

Had a close look from the ferry and I think they are just moored at the buoys there. The buoys are in line as it is an anchorage. There look to be 6 or 8 buoys there.

You often see oil tenders and supply ships parked there. So I assume they have come off hire from the Macau Bridge project and are awaiting assignment.

Plausible explanation Paul

Thanks to the Say-no-to-cars-guy anyway

Didn't even know HKR had submitted that without informing the owners - who are all shareholders in DB

Say-no to-tourists in DB - we're a private development

Yes. Upon further inspection, I now agree. Probably just moored for CNY. Sorry to alarm everybody .

So the dotted line route on the map by the OP is going to go straight through Sienna 1 & 2 and Greenvale?

Has anyone seen these cranes today ?... only there are 4 very similar cranes now parked off the airport. They are just where the new 3rd runway is going to be built ?

Coincidence ?  If not , strange that there are suddenly 4 of the same king of cranes there !
