San Hing are quoting HK$6,800 to remove, supply and install a new water gas heater (Rinnai RSW120RFL).I checked online the price of the water heater which was HK$5,980 but it doesn't mention if removal of old unit and installation are included.

So HK$1000 for installation, and removal of the old, that sounds pretty OK to me.

My experience last year is, i bought one from price.com.hk, which is much cheaper and has lots of different choices.

And the seller will send 2 people to you place to remove the old one and install new one, with a small fee.

Quite good experience.

FYI, the one i bought is Rinnai RSW150RFL at price of 4720$, with ~500$ removal/installation fee.

And FYI, the one you're looking for (Rinnai RSW120RFL) is ~4400$....

Hope it helps.

Been there done that last year. No regrets what's so ever.
Two person team if you're removing the old one. Clean job, no hassle n worth the money.
My take, go for it mate!

Thanks. We're trying to deal with a company from price.com.hk called Joint Electrical Services, remotely. Communicating with them via What's app at this minute.

I'd stick to San Hing. Messy if you go hunting for best price. Don't know what you will get. San Hing are the spot and easy to communicate with if anything goes wrong

and this is why they can charge a premium from DB residents who don't want to shop around.

No such 'premium'. Going outside is not necessarily cheaper at all. You pays your money and takes your choice in HK wherever you decide to buy. If you think it's worth paying more for convience and familiarity that's up to you.

Local suppliers generally good and honest. I would particularly recommend Yours Electrical. In my opinion difficult to find better service anywhere

Support local shops or you may find them gone.

Ger, I couldn't agree more. I've had excellent service from both San Hing and Yours and am very much for supporting local traders.

$2,400 is quite a big difference. Nice to know.
