How to delete an account on here??

I posted this under the technical section several days ago, but received no reply, so thought I'd try here.

So, as per my question in the subject line, how does one go about deleting an account on here? I couldn't find anything in the help guidelines, nor is there anything obvious under User CP. Surely there has to be a way?

Thanks!

You cannot delete an account. if you did it would screw up the posts if you have made some.

It was possible to delete one's user account before in a previous version of YaBB. You can always email admin to do it for you.

Thanks. Guess I'll have to try and contact site admin then! Poor form to not allow a user to delete their own account, though. Most sites allow that basic function.

It's the forum owner's option to have the function or not. If the forum is used to defame or besmirch an individual or a business establishment and an investigation is warranted by the authorities, there will always be a digital footprint. This forum is not as popular as it used to be but there was a time when a lot of postings were political in nature and quite a bit of mudslinging.
