600 people evacuated from Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. Some prankster left a fake bomb made from cardboard tubes attached to an alarm clock.

Update:

Police are treating the incident very seriously, noting that a bomb hoax is punishable by 5 years jail and $150,000 fine. They are now searching for the woman who left the object at Ocean Terminal's main concourse and Kowloon West crime unit is investigating. A security guard found the object at 2:10pm and 9 outlets and 4 restaurants were evacuated. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were called in at 3pm and they used a remote controlled robot to detonate the object but determined it was not a bomb. The cordoned off area was reopened at 4pm.

Some media are reporting that the object is an alarm clock being sold on Taobao for RMB 99 without being able to find it online.

SCMP has CCTV footage of the woman deliberately placing the object where it was discovered.
