fight to make dbay more green
Jul 28th, 2010, 1:11pm

hey im 14 years old and im against pollution, dbay is suposs to be a place to get away from the pollution of hong kong and soon that will change they are building loads of stuff and in a few years the will be a bridge from hong kong ot dbay then a tuneel under water to macau  we need to act ,for example i heard from many people that for the electricity bill it would cost them around 1000 hkd , so here are my ideas we could use the rain from the typhoons and recycle that water to then use like our water and also we could put power pannels on each house and appartement use the sun to make your bills cheaper and we could also put huge power wind bines on top of the montains , well its my opinion , the future depends on us i hope  you like what i said.

The new development from Hongkong to Macau is a bridge but the exit will be in TungChung instead of db.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong-Zhuhai-Macau_Bridge .
Db already got a reservoir to gather rain water but it's only reserved for the fishes.

very impressed with your commitment! but i think it would be easier to start off with some more simple things, that will probably still make a huge difference! like for example: switching off the lights in the staircases of all the buildings in siena one and siena two. (THEY ARE ON ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT) stuff like that i dont get, how hard is it to just switch them off? and think about it, how much money would they save!!

but even if the bridge exit is in tung chung still wont change to much the amount of pollution that will be from the cars will make big pollution clouds and since dbay is not to far from tung chung just a blow of wind.. you get the point plus im even talking to hong kong cause i mean seriously going to macau takes 1 hour by boat im thinking taking the car well take hours, traffic jams ,accident i mean whats the point of this is it just to prove that hong kong will have the biggest bridge on earth just to put hong kong in the big picture of world record i mean seriously use public transport and if you going to tell me is just because there are more and more tourist in hong kong no thats not an excuse  really wish this could go in court to help environmental, we would even be here if it wasn't thanks to the nature .

The project is on going. So what are you going to do? I believe more people favor the bridge than against it especially the residents in Tung Chung. I am not against it either. Not all development are bad. Some are there to make our life easier. To name a few, e.g. the cross harbor tunnels, the int'l airport,  db tunnel, etc. Btw, Have you ever been to TungChung or the rest of New Territories ? imagine how long it would take without the tunnel?

The air-conditioning at the empty life lobbies consumes more energy and contributes more heat and CO2. Do they have to be that cool considering mos residents won't stay in the lift lobby for more than 1 minute.

I have been going on about closing the doors at Fusion for about six years now.  They stay open all the time. How hard is it to have them closed and we open them when we go  in and out?????

Ditto the restaurants who have open sides to them and the aircons on???

Do we need lights in the lobbies all day as well as all night????

The buildings who have aircons in the lobbies, do they have to have the doors open as well even for a small amount of time each day????

OK wont go on am fed up with trying to change just these few things.

I would just love to see the petrol golf carts to be replaced by electric ones. All those noise and pollution, no good to DB's green reputation.  Roll Eyes

the electric golf carts would need the infastructure to charge them and they have been introuduced to db when it first opened disaster they always break down our golf carts use no more petrol then a lawn mower it is not much fuel at all focus on cars not small golf carts.
